Are Red Seal 313A sample questions like the actual exam?

What the official refrigeration sample questions show, what they cannot predict, and how to review each answer before a booked 313A sitting.

Booked for Ontario's 313A exam? The official Red Seal sample questions can show you the question format and phrasing. Red Seal says they are for study, do not certify you, and do not predict your exam performance. This answers a candidate resource question checked 2026-10-06; it is not a new exam-process announcement.

Where are the official refrigeration sample questions?

Open Red Seal's sample-question page and select Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, Ontario's Red Seal title for 313A. The page presents questions and an overview after you answer them. Use it to see how a trade question is worded, then compare the concepts with the standard used for current exams.

Red Seal still labels the previous occupational standard as the basis for current exams and says exams based on its newer standard are under development. The Ontario 313A exam guide explains that distinction. A sample question does not establish that a newer exam has taken effect.

Will those exact questions appear, or predict a pass?

No. Red Seal's preparation guide says its exact samples will not appear on the exam. Its sample page also says success on them does not represent future exam performance. Treat a correct answer as evidence that you understood that example, not a forecast for a 125-question sitting.

The official samples and the supplied formula list have different purposes: one shows phrasing; the other is an exam resource. Neither replaces studying the current occupational standard.

How should you review a missed sample question?

After choosing an answer, write down the underlying task or concept, then explain why each alternative is right or wrong. Red Seal recommends reviewing every choice and your reason for an error. For example, if a made-up troubleshooting prompt mentions a reading at the compressor, first identify whether it is a voltage, winding-resistance or insulation-resistance question; each measurement answers something different. This is a study example, not a recalled exam item.

Put the weak concept into your study planner and return to it after reviewing a trade source. The free five-question sample offers separate, original, unofficial draft practice awaiting certified-mechanic review; five answers cannot predict a pass.
